The Immanuel Movement was originally formed during the preparation for the visit of Pope Frances to the American continent. It continued for a few years after that world wind visit, then took a hiatus.

The Immanuel Movement is a process by which God is glorified through movement. It lives as a memorial of the movement through forced migration of our African ancestors. It celebrates the liberating movement of our people from slavery to freedom. It embraces the movement of our elders to unite with the Catholic Church in worship, and it journeys with the movement of the Holy Spirit as we realize our full conversion to Jesus Christ.
